I'm with you: the thrill seeing new releases has faded greatly. I just placed my last order for 2024. I want to use what I have in 2025 & use stuff up ✌🏾😉
The only makeup that kind of catches my eye is the drugstore makeup. All the high end, mid-range and indie seem like copies of copies of copies of boring.
I begrudgingly purchased the Ensley Reign What The Fox. I've accepted they are more expensive, the quality is amazing and the packaging is stunning.. so I pay the price. BUT people complained about the price wanting smaller palettes and we have them. But they are actually more expensive. Shipping on What The Fox is $9.88. So even with a discount it was like $38. So if you buy 3 of them, you're paying WAY more than you would for a large palette... but because it's less at the time of purchase it's OK? I, as an everyday consumer have shipped items twice the weight of these little palettes and it only cost me $6.20. As a brand they should have better contacted rates. And I know brands add a few dollars here and there for extra revenue, it just seems weird that people who were complaining about the price are not complaining about this. Coz I am LOL. Definitely a better value to order big palettes. 2 larger palettes are only like $0.60 more for shipping too. 😂 Make that mame sense. OK, I'm done done with my pointless rant.
Just got the Galactic Visitor palette from Singe Beauty and I think it's one of the best palette purchases of the year. That's saying a lot, IMHO, because Byredo's Mineralscapes is fantastic and Nomad had several great releases this year. With the acquisition of Galactic Visitor, I'm done with makeup for the year and a bit beyond. As for skincare, I do want that Prequel Milk Peel. Prequel has pretty amazing products at a superb price point.
I bought the tarte glow squad Amazonian face palette you talked about in a previous video during the Black Friday sale and imho it is just as beautiful as the hourglass palettes at a better price point.
Are you open to making your own palette with singles? Sydney Grace are the queens of muted, greyish tones in every color, and I have several such mauves and purples from them. ETA and they are highly pigmented, both mattes and shimmers.
There are things that I want but I haven't made any major purchases from my wishlist. It is good when the week of releases are NRN or pass. It will help all of us to review our collection, organize and even regift. I think having a few Alex drawers from Ikea or an armoire can help with organization with small boxes or inserts. Once it is filled, there is your collection. Anything new must be replace by something old and not using any longer. This sentiment carries on to clothing, shoes, accessories, furniture, collectibles, etc. Some things we know that we will not ever use or utilize, we can let go. We give ourselves permission to let them go. We already know our makeup styles. I have to remind myself imagine how nice to build in savings. Watch those savings grow. I am undergoing an attempt to reorganize and simplify as well. I definitely know your feelings and thoughts about decluttering, simplifying and staying on top of the collection. We have beautiful gems in our collection. Once it is all organize, it makes it so much easier to pull something and put it right back. Then a small desk or vanity in front of you with only your holy grails, skin essentials and brushes.
I recently got my Devinah order in the mail from their BF sale and I'm super happy with them so far! 😊 I'm set on my collection for now, I'm enjoying playing with what I have and what's new to me.
Nothing is appealing to me, either because I got overwhelmed with all the releases or because I know myself enough to stick with what works for you instead of experimenting. The only things I would love to have are old, released from months or years old, but there's nothing I NEED to get right now except skincare for my under eyes.
Im over the indie palettes too. Too overpriced, all the brands look the same. And everyone raves about them. Im done lol. And now I'm moving and will have a mortgage again for the first time in 4 years 😭so def need to save my coin now

😂
I'm always interested in a pressed powder for foundation or finishing, so the e.l.f. has piqued my interest 🤔 😏

Yeah, it's all pass for me. 😂 I'm over it.
@@Lynnonymous same!!
Great video, sending you positive energy to be able to declutter and yes it takes time to declutter because it took time to accumulate.
The declutter starts tonight!

Moira has a product with the Peter Thomas Roth packaging I wonder how they compare bc it does that for me and is WAY cheaper

Do you have any recommendations for dusty/muted purple or mauve palettes that are highly pigmented?

The Elf matte primer is a yes, the body oils are NRN, and everything else is an easy pass.

They rave about them and buy every dang one. I read the comments on the indie channels. They collect them. I guess I shouldn’t judge but
